Had a lovely week here despite the unpredictable Lakeland weather. Although slightly difficult to initially locate, the property was clean and comfortable. The TV was a little difficult to work out as terrestrial TV didn't have a signal but managed to get programs via Internet. Couldn't find a brush or hoover so had to use the dustpan and brush which wasn't ideal. If we go to this area again would consider booking this property again.

On arrival at 16:45 we found that the lodge had not been cleaned. Traces of the former occupants included dirty sheets and wine bottles and food left in the fridge, used towels in the shower room and crumbs on the sofa. Although a phone call to the managing agents resulted in the arrival of a team of cleaners, our initial experience made us uncomfortable in the property, and after staying one night, we left, abandoning the rest of our holiday. As we had planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary, my wife was very upset. The celebration did not happen, and instead I had to drive 300 miles home. Our experience mirrored that of a previous reviewer in April who also reported that they left after one night. Like them, we found the double bed uncomfortable (although the singles in the other bedroom were fine). The shower is very difficult to adjust for temperature. Doors to bedrooms and shower room are very narrow, rather like a caravan in that respect. Just like the April reviewer, we were unable to get the TV in the main room to work, and it is surprising that, after 2 months, this has not been corrected. The setting is within a wood, but other lodges are quite close; it was quiet during our short stay, but I can imagine that noise from other lodges could be a problem . I cannot recommend booking this lodge.
