Occupying a superb central Lakeland location just 3 miles from Lake Windermere, this comfortable first floor apartment is equipped to ETC 4 Star standard with en-suite, the open plan living area has a feature stove and a balcony. Set in 2½ acres of shared natural grounds and unspoilt woodland. Comprising part of a holiday complex it enjoys a south-facing balcony which overlooks a small private tarn with fine views of the Langdale Valley. Ideal for walking with direct access to surrounding fells. Ambleside and Grasmere 3 miles, water sports at Windermere and Coniston 8 miles. Shops 2½ miles, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

A very comfortable well equipped apartment with great views, didn't use the car all week, walked to Grasmere, Ambleside, Elterwater and The Langdales. There's also an hourly bus service. The swimming pool was closed due to a technical problem so can't comment on that. The estate roads are quite steep so a car would be needed for those less mobile. We will definitely look at coming back to Tarnside again when we next visit the Lakes.

My wife and I absolutely loved this quaint apartment. The setting is gorgeous, the facilities are more than enough and value for money is obvious. The view over the tarn from your balcony is beautiful and the location inside the forest gives such comfort and relaxation.On our third day, we reserved the apartment once more for 2026, I think that tells you all you need to know!The apartment could do with some basic decorating, just to freshen it up a little. Some of the lampshades could be replaced, curtains thoroughly cleaned. Overall though, beds are comfortable and it has everything you need. The internet isn't superb, although for the Lake District it's more than enough. You'll get around 20mbs down and 6mbs up which is more than enough for streaming movies and the like. If you have any kids or multiple devices running at once, the broadband will throttle and slow, so if I were you, I'd download before you arrive. Other than that, perfect for my wife and I and we're looking forward to returning soon.

The apartment was very good, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The location however was up a very steep and narrow road and the steps up were also steep and would not be suitable for many older people or those with walking difficulties. The brochure never mentioned that there was a swimming pool with sauna and jacuzzi which was accessible from the property which meant we didn’t have the costumes to take advantage of the facility.
