Guests say

The Coach House in Ambleside is praised for its excellent location, with easy access to walks and local attractions. Guests enjoy the wildlife and the property's secluded garden. While some find the cottage cosy and well-equipped, others suggest it could benefit from refurbishment and attention to maintenance. The property offers a comfortable stay with ample parking and is considered good value for large families.

Reviews generally indicate that the cottage is clean inside, with some guests noting it as very clean. However, there are comments about the outside looking neglected upon arrival and some areas inside needing more thorough cleaning. The presence of a broken sweeping brush and a stained mattress cover in one instance suggest room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its central position, accessibility, and proximity to beautiful walks and towns. Road noise is mentioned but is not a significant issue for most guests. Difficulty in locating the property, especially in the dark, is noted, which could be improved with better signage.

Guests find the property cosy and spacious, suitable for families, with a well-kept garden. However, there are remarks about the sofas and beds being uncomfortable, and the property being more suitable for four people rather than six, which suggests that comfort could be enhanced.

The cottage is considered well-equipped, with a good kitchen and utility room. Nonetheless, guests report issues with appliances, such as a partially broken toaster, and suggest that the furniture and decoration show signs of wear. The need for refurbishment and maintenance is a recurring theme.

There is insufficient information to assess thoughtfulness as there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be given in this category.

Grasmere also offers a selection of bars and restaurants, tea rooms and independent shops, where you can try some of the world famous Grasmere gingerbread. Lovely cottage in a central location in the Lake District. Clean, cosy and quiet, with lots of wildlife to view from inside. All one level which is excellent for anyone with mobility issues. Great garden for all ages.

Creaky door handles and a couple of pieces of furniture needing a coat of paint were our only small issues otherwise we loved the peaceful location and fully equipped/ stocked nature of the Coach House.

Great location to access the lakes. Lovely setting even if weather bad. Lots of walks right on the doorstep.Wildlife on the doorstep. This is a lovely cottage albeit a few areas require some attention to the paintwork where tired and a leaking sink. But didn't spoil the holiday with modern appliances and was cosy.
