Courtyard with garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Bogle Barn has been lovingly renovated to a very good standard by the owners. The quirky open-plan space offers a very social holiday home for you to enjoy quality time together. As you enter through the front door there is a great area to hang up your walking gear and boots! The large living room has a wood burner to enjoy on those winter nights whilst the fully equipped kitchen/diner occupies a space on the first floor. Both bedrooms have an en-suite shower room, and there is a lovely front courtyard to enjoy the views on a summer’s day!
Satterthwaite is an ideal location for those energetic guests who enjoying walking, cycling and generally ’the great outdoors’. The village also offers a fantastic local pub. Just 1 mile down the road and you find yourself in Grizedale, with a wide variety of woodland paths to amble along, numerous cycle lanes to enjoy and ’Go Ape’ for the more energetic among you, there is plenty to do in this area!
Close by are the wonderful villages of Hawkshead, where you’ll find a good selection of traditional shops and local pubs, and Coniston, which lies beside Coniston Water, the third largest of the lakes in the Lake District. The famous fell of Coniston Old Man towers above the village and is frequently climbed from the village via Church Beck and the copper mines. Bogle Barn offers a fabulous holiday home for those wanting to experience the quieter, more rural retreat.

What a fantastic week. Bogle Barn way exceeded our expectations. We had a chilled, relaxing five days. The facilities are fantastic and instead of going out to eat we stay in the barn, cooked and enjoyed the wood burning stove (so did the dogs). Mid week was a trip to the local pub where there was a busy quiz night and where we were made to feel very welcome. The only negative was the weather, but we still got out and about in the car sight seeing and taking advantage of the breaks where and when ever possible. The scenery as you would expect is amazing even in the rain.One piece of advice that we would offer is to go prepared with provisions and supplies as there is no local shop. There is ample storage in the Barn, two fridges and small freezer The nearest supermarkets (M&S, Booths and Aldi) are 20 - 30 minutes drive away in Ulverston.All in all, 10 out of 10!! We would have no hesitation in coming back again.Many thanks.

Bogle Barn has been lovingly restored by its owners. It's not only warm and comfortable but also beautiful. We have three holiday cottages ourselves, which we converted, and most of the time we stay in places that aren't quite as good as ours (seriously). Bogle Barn is different. It's a class above. We loved our week in Satterthwaite, in no small part due to the ambience and comfort of the cottage. Everything was perfect.
