Fabulous cottage. This is our second time back to breasty haw and 6th time to Satterthwaite. From the door into the woods our cocker spaniel loves it here. The views are out of this world. Great kitted out cottage with everything you need. Gardens superb, and the fire in the lounge after a walk up in the forest is the nicest thing ever to relax in front of. Check out deer, jays and robins!

Lovely property, very quiet. Well equipped with walks from the door. Local pub is only 5 minutes walk away and Grizedale is a short drive away (also walkable!). We could hear an owl hooting every night which was lovely for us although it freaked our dog out! Fab enclosed garden too.

Breasty Haw is a lovely, traditional cottage tucked away at the top of a narrow lane off the village's main road. It is very well equipped, immaculately clean, and really comfortable. It is set in a beautiful acre of grounds which are like stepping into real Lakeland solitude.Downsides are few: the approach needs care, and customers will find it easier to reverse through the gate to the house. The narrow lane needs care and - one for Cottages.com - the directions given are not good, really confusing. All that needs to be said is to take first left entering village from Hawshead, last right from the opposite direction. Do not attempt to use SatNav - it will send you on a long, unnecessary loop.'Games Room' is a bit of a stretch. It is an old outbuilding that was full of dead leaves and old, dusty furniture. It has potential but needs some effort - like some actual games. Great beer cooler, though.Really enjoyed the stay and would happily book again.
