Sunny Beck is a well-equipped cottage praised for its extensive garden, wildlife, and peaceful rural setting. Guests appreciate the warm, comfortable environment and the picturesque garden with a river. While some guests encountered issues, the majority had a relaxing stay and would recommend the property.
Cleanliness scores are mixed. While some guests found the cottage very clean, one review mentioned issues with dampness, mould, and unclean items. This suggests room for improvement, but it is not a universal concern.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity. It's ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat. However, one review noted the remoteness with local amenities being a drive away.
Most guests found the cottage comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and comfortable beds. One review mentioned a dark and dismal lounge, but this seems to be an outlier.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the kitchen/diner. Some guests experienced issues with TV reception and a lack of instructions for appliances, indicating some maintenance concerns.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Due to the nature of this property and land there are a number of drops within the grounds of about 1.5 metres and so children must be supervised at all times. There is an unfenced stream in the garden. Access to the back garden area, is from steps at the door of the property, not the gate with 'private' written on. This property is next door to UK1367 which shares the garden
Suitable for up to 2 pets

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage which is in a rural location so it is ideal for anyone looking for peace and quiet. The garden is extensive and leads down to a fabulous fast flowing river. I enjoyed falling asleep to the rush of water. There is lots of wild life! There was plenty of room for our grown up family of 4 an the cottage is well equipped. (The kitchen / diner is fab!) We found the beds comfortable and the cottage is nice and warm. We didn't have an issue in our car but Just to be aware if you have a low slung car, the short road down to the cottage is quite rough. Plenty of parking for 2 to 3 cars which is brilliant. Highly recommend this cottage if you want to get away from the crowds.

A lovely warm and comfortable cottage in a delightful setting. Well equipped and very clean with no evidence of the issues mentioned in an earlier review. Only slight issue was the TV reception where the Humax box didn't respond to the remote. Also the post box mentioned in the directions has been removed. Otherwise somewhere we would be happy to revisit.

Very disappointed, yes it is in a beautiful location the gardens are superb, that is all I can say. The cottage smelled damp and very stale, wet wall in lounge, mould under the stairs, cleaned this but returned, dreadful staining on double bed mattress, what on earth is this? Lounge very dark and dismal, cushions on settee dirty as was the throw, this should all be cleaned after each occupancy, cushion on double bed had mould stains. TV reception a bit hit and miss, waste bin in kitchen when removed liner had not been cleaned had the remains of food in the bottom, mould up the sides, had to clean and disinfect before I put new liner in, freezer needed defrosting as you could hardly open the door, no instructions for microwave as it was a multi purpose cooker, although the kitchen was fully equiped it was all a bit mish mash, the kitchen was actually the best room in the house, lovely and bright. It really marred our holiday in fact we did not stay the week came home early, very disappointed, will not be returning, we have stayed in much better cottages in the past. Have taken photos of all the mould, damp walls etc. willing to share.
