Large spacious lodges with all mod cons. Good location and the swan inn nice good, pleasant staff but a bit pricey. Only downside is the lodge needs a good deep clean. Including the front entrance and balcony area. Table needs replaced and better seating provided.

The Mallard was spacious and comfortable, in a great location with beautiful scenic views and close to the river. Given 4 stars as oven not working upon arrival band not fixed for duration of our stay.

We stayed in these cottages when they were first available and felt very new and very clean for a large family event, so we had no hesitation in booking again for something similar, somewhere we could host friends and family over a long weekend.The ability to self cater was a priority and swapping guests for different nights needed.The cottages are lovely, well equipped and the bedrooms are very comfortable with high quality mattresses and linen. plenty of bathrooms including a couple of ensuites.The terrace has an open view and outdoor bbq/fire area which is great when the weather behaves.The main living dining and kitchen area are well equipped but there are signs of wear and tear with chips in the walls, sofas well used and the Smeg range cooker oven was faulty and didn't function properly meaning our family feast was delayed significantly as regardless of which setting we used it struggled to get to temperature - We'd planned to cook for a crowd for dinner and breakfast on our first night so it wasn't ideal - I will say that the hotel reacted to this and certainly assisted with us being able to cook our main dish in their professional kitchen (they did this for us). The maintenance guy came 1st thing the next morning but wasn't able to resolve the issue on the spot meaning our breakfast and the next evening meal were also delayed.Also - beware - the hot water felt like it was almost at boiling point.The location of the cottages was great for us, easy to get to, ample parking and use of the swimming pool/sauna/steam room and gym included as well as access to the Spa which needs to be booked in advance.The cosmetic issues didn't deter from the fun that we had and overall it was just what we wanted - we fed back to reception so I am confident that the excellent staff will ensure that the issues are put right.
