Situated in one of the most sought-after spots on White Cross Bay, this stylish two-bedroom lodge sleeps four and enjoys a partial lake view from its generous open decking — perfect for al fresco dining or simply unwinding after a day exploring the Lake District. White Cross Bay is ideally positioned between Windermere and Ambleside, just over half a mile from the popular Brockhole Visitor Centre, which offers a wide range of family-friendly activities including Treetop Nets, Treetop Trek, an adventure playground, boat hire, mini golf, and art experiences.
Inside, the lodge is finished to a high standard, combining comfort and functionality. The master bedroom features a double bed, fitted wardrobe, en-suite shower room, and a wall-mounted TV. The second bedroom includes twin beds, a fitted wardrobe, and its own TV. A modern family shower room is located off the hallway. The bright and welcoming open-plan living and dining area is ideal for relaxing, with Freeview TV and access to TNT Sports 1 and Sky Sports Main Event. Large patio doors open out onto a spacious private deck that enjoys sunlight throughout the day and is furnished with a dining table and chairs. A stand is also provided for disposable BBQs, and private parking is available right outside the lodge.
Just a short two-minute stroll from the lodge brings you to the peaceful shores of Lake Windermere. While swimming is not permitted due to marina safety rules, paddle boards and kayaks can be launched for early morning paddles or evening glides. Guests may purchase Entertainment Passes at reception to access the park’s leisure facilities, which include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, children’s playground, and seasonal activity programmes. There’s also a family-friendly bar and restaurant on site, along with a small shop for everyday essentials.

The lodge was nicely fitted out and very clean. The welcome pack a lovely touch.The shower would run cold after a couple of minutes which was annoying. Turning off and on again got the heat back. Otherwise the lodge was great. Note there is no gym on site, although this is advertised.The park itself has a lot of rules. We took 2 sailing dinghies with us and they wanted to charge us for a marina berth for each. After some discussion this was reduced but still rather a lot for the small boats we had, we recovered and put them back on trailer every evening. Park Dean should realise there are different types of boats.Located half way between Windermere and Ambleside, there are loads of walks all around.

Superbly clean with beautiful smelling linens. The interior felt new and fresh. Master bedroom extremely comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen and outside space was a bonus. Lovely to sit outside with breakfast or evening with a drink. Mattresses in the twin were not as comfortable and the heat setting on the shower in the main bathroom was stuck - luckily at a manageable temperature.
