I will never book a holiday through Sykes holidays again not only did they charge me with a flexible cancellation fee of a £130 that I didn’t sign up for, then we arrived at the lodge which smelled of i dont know what my daughter had to mop the whole floors and wipe down the furniture then outside the barbecue had not been cleaned the parasol didn’t work an was filthy, also there where bottle tops strewn over the decking which was all loose around the hot tub there where empty bottles of various beers, we arrived on the Friday and on the Monday one of the steps leading down from the decking to the hot tub broke because the wood holding it was rotten,we contacted the owner who was abrupt and said it was alright the wends day before we arrived she said she would send a maintenance man out which never arrived so we spent all week stepping over the broken step up until the Friday we left, i would never book a holiday with Sykes again we where treated very badly, photos to follow, mike ward

First the water pressure is awful, there was no water when we first got there and it took ages to come through. The shower in the ensuite was just a trickle, no way could we shower in there. The main bathrooms shower was on and off and went from scolding to freeze every 5 secs. The place needs a good clean, its surface area is fine but look closer or on the skirting boards and its grim. The hot tub needs a better clean, flat path to it, as its on the grass. Its cramped in the lounge area with the 2 sofas, its all arranged a bit strange. We stayed 3 nights and that was plenty, the beds are lumpy and very bouncy. Overall it needs alot of TLC.

The lodge is exactly as described. When we got in the heating was already on and hot tub ready. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend. Internet is slightly hit and miss when watching tv and only real grumble is nothing at all to do with the lodge but the parkdean staff. As we didn’t book directly through them they didn’t seem to want to help which as the owners presumably pay them a lot for the fees and maintenance is a shame. Other than that a lovely stay and I would recommend.
