The lodge is tired and needs some TLC.The dishwasher is not working properly. We didn’t use the hot tub due to it not being private enough.Mix match of plates and cups (not enough of everything for 4 people). The location is good and the site was clean and tidy.Reception on site was excellent. Very helpful and informative.

Overall, we had a really good holiday and will definitely be coming back to the Lake District again. We really liked the accommodation. When we arrived it was lovely and clean, spotless in fact. Whoever cleans it needs a raise. There is a brochure Included which has a lot of information about the area. It's worth a look. I would ask that the diagram for where to find the lodge on site would be far more useful than the provided instruction. We were very surprised how big it was. It had 2 decent sized bedrooms, an en-suite to the master, and large bathroom. The living room was very spacious with a nice fire place and very comfy sofas. There was a dining table and chairs and a then a very big kitchen. Outside there was a decking area with another table and chairs and also a hot tub which was used daily whilst we were there. Twice daily someone comes to check the levels of the hot tub to make sure all is OK. They are emptied and refilled for each new guest. We used the cooker once on our stay and it worked absolutely fine. The dishwasher worked too. There is a washing machine but we did not use this. I would say to bring your own washing up stuff and dishwasher tablets as none were provided apart from a washing machine cleaning pod. There is a separate fridge and freezer which we used both. Please be wary of the fridge. It was on 4 degrees when we got there but it was not very cold. We turned it down as low as we could and it just about worked. The freezer was great. There are some things we would recommend to make the stay far nicer and if these items were to be fixed, these would make the stay a 5/5.1) the fridge- I would recommend replacing as this was barely working. 2) Air con would be ideal. We arrived on a heat wave week and the lodge was 35 degrees which really took a long time to come down. 3) the floor in the en-suite is not stuck down. It bubbles when it gets wet. 4) the shower handle in the en-suite is broken and needs to be fixed or replaced. 5) we could not work the shower head in the main bathroom at all. Again, I would recommend replacing. 6) probably the most important one, the decking where the hot tub needs to be fixed. There is a hole on the left hand side and there is 2 broken slats on the right hand side. I had s 7-year old with me and she scraped her leg on the broken slat. 7) lastly, and this is personal preference, replace the mattresses. They are awful. I did not sleep amazingly and given being in the Lake District where we got up to a lot of activities, a more comfy mattress would be ideal. In conclusion, we would definitely stay here again. It was great value for money, was driving distance to everything (Ambleside is 15 minute drive, bowness on Windemere is 10 minutes away. Fellfoot is 25 minutes away, Grizedale is 35 minutes away). The main highlight, the property is in the training flight path for the RAF and we saw numerous fighter jets which was amazing to see.

Park is located in a beautiful area and really quiet. Good play park area and nature everywhere. The club house was quiet and a little pricey but good range of drinks and food pretty good. The lodge itself was large and clean and appreciated the touches of having essentials like toilet roll and washing up liquid there already as not always on self catering. Beds were not the most comfortable probably benefit from new mattresses. Hot tub was great nice temp and sunken so private feeling.
