In addition, Bowness has some great local attractions such as The World Of Beatrix Potter attraction, The Jetty Museum and cinema.
It is also one of the access points for ferry rides across Lake Windermere. Slightly further afield there is Ambleside and within the local area there is a whole host of outdoor activities to choose from including sailing, paddle boarding, tree top trek, climbing, archery, and plenty more. For those who prefer fewer active pursuits, you are spoilt for choice with National Trust locations, Garden Centres, Museums, Steam railways and animal parks. There is truly something for everyone close to this location and we haven’t even mentioned the famous scenery and views all over the Lake District.

The Cottage it self, was a very smart (albeit small) rental property tucked away in the Windemere hills, perfect for a couples get away. The cottage provides a small bathroom (shower only), a comfortable double bed, a small kitchenette with under counter fridge (with small freezer drawer) decent internet and a smart TV.The check in procedure was simple and the 'gardens' were secluded and lovely to sit in.Our only minor complaint is that the map pin on the listing is incorrect and places the property very close to the lakeside, in fact you are more like a 2-3 mile walk down to the lakefront, down some quite steep hills so if you have mobility issues you will need to drive.

This is a lovely little place for two people. It is very compact but has everything you need. The outside space is lovely, the garden is very pretty. The shower is not very good, there is very little water pressure. It was also very noisy from the apartment above. You can hear every movement from above and it kept us awake until the early hours. It was very intrusive and for this reason I wouldn’t return. I don’t know if we didn’t find the most direct trail but it took us 30 mins to walk to Windermere but only £5 in an uber.

Perfect location. Felt private & peaceful but you are only a few minutes drive from Windermere high street.
