A car ferry runs to the far side of the lake taking visitors to Sawrey and Hawkshead, or you can take a trip on one of the steamers north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside. There is plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition and Steamboat Museum, as well as an 18 hole ‘pitch and putt’ and sailing marinas. Lovely apartment - very comfortable and well equipped. Easy to drive to surrounding areas but if you're wanting to walk into Bowness wouldn't recommend in the dark as no footpath all the wayWould definitely consider staying again
