Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Mulberry at Applethwaite Hall for its spaciousness, luxurious feel, and beautiful views. The property is celebrated for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. Its location offers a peaceful rural atmosphere while being conveniently close to Windermere. The thoughtful touches, such as a dog crate and Netflix, contribute to a home-from-home experience, although welcome gifts are not guaranteed.

Reviewers frequently mention the property's spotless condition, indicating a high level of cleanliness. The absence of any negative comments on cleanliness supports a near-perfect score.

The property's location is highly regarded for its tranquillity and proximity to Windermere, with easy access to local attractions and walks. The rural feel combined with the convenience of nearby amenities justifies a high score.

Comfort is a standout feature, with guests highlighting the cosy beds and sofas. A few comments suggest the mattresses may be too soft for some, but overall, the comfort level is rated very highly.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-stocked kitchen and modern bathrooms. However, some minor maintenance issues and Wi-Fi connectivity problems prevent a perfect score.

While guests appreciate the thoughtful amenities provided, such as dog mats and kitchen equipment, there is no consistent mention of welcome gifts, and therefore, it is not possible to score this category accurately.

In a beautiful and quiet location. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Very clean and had those extra touches to make it feel like a home from home! Grounds were beautiful and stunning views, my eldest loved the binoculars! Only thing I would say is that the radiators were set to a max of 19-20 degrees which we felt at times was a little on the cooler side especially with a 2 yr old and for the time of year! Would have been nice to have given it a blast then maintained at a lower temp!

We did raise these issues with sykes, during our stay, which are things which need fixing or looking into: Loose Rubber surround on oven, Suspected loose seal on living room window due to flies filling the space between & a few flies found in carpet in bedroom(twin bed room), smelly fridge when opening it (not clean), a few utensils in drawer hadn’t been cleaned properly and stashed back in drawer, not sure if bed springs on other bed (double) had gone?? Issues raised to Sykes customer support - x2 calls ‘received’ from Sykes - no follow up, whilst staying at the property.
