A cosy semi-detached cottage, superbly located within a short walking distance of Bowness-on-Windermere and minutes from Lake Windermere. Comfortably appointed throughout, this cottage is ideal for families or friends who wish to enjoy time together in this beautiful part of the Lake District. The cottage has two bedrooms, with the master bedroom having the benefit of an adjoining sun room with French windows and a Juliet balcony giving distant views of the Lake District Fells rising above Lake Windermere. The cosy sitting room has original beams and a lovely woodburning stove. Outside is a front gravelled area for parking, and a patio, so no matter the time of day, you can sit with a refreshing drink as you plan your day's activities in the Lakes, plus bustling Bowness is just a short walk away. The Glebe, an area of open parkland incorporating pitch-and-putt golf, tennis courts, an indoor children's play centre (with entrance charge), and the quayside for lake cruises, are just 7 minutes' walk away, from where you can enjoy stunning views across Lake Windermere to the Lake District Fells. You can also hire row boats or embark on the steamer and travel up the lake to Brockhole, the National Park Visitor Centre, and enjoy the adventure playground and treetop course, along with some lovely gardens. Bowness has a great mix of restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes, and some lovely specialist shops selling delicious chocolates and cakes. Visitors can also take the car ferry, just two minutes' by car from this cottage, across Lake Windermere to the pretty Lakeland village of Hawkshead and Grizedale Forest. Grizedale Forest has a host of beautiful walks and cycle ways. This delightful cottage has a host of attractions and activities available nearby, and can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere both provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants, plus boat trips are available from Bowness to Ambleside, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is on the edge of the town, plus Grizedale Forest Park is nearby and there are many National Trust properties in the area.
