The craggy fells and peaceful lakes inspired William Wordsworth, whose home in Grasmere is open to visitors, and also Beatrix Potter, who lived at Hill Top at Sawrey, now preserved by the National Trust. Ambleside is only a short distance away. The bus route and train station are nearby. Shops, pubs and restaurants ¼ mile.

Perfect! Location just 5 mins walk from Windermere shops and restaurants but very quiet. You look out onto woods and gardens. Bus stop at end of road for main route into Bowness and Kendal or up to Ambleside and Keswick. Very good quality, tasteful decor and furnishings. Allocated parking space a little awkward to get in and out of, especially for a larger car.
