The Willows in Windermere is praised for its brilliant location, tasteful furnishings, and comfortable setting. Guests enjoyed the spaciousness, hot tub, and cinema room, making it ideal for large groups and families. While some minor maintenance issues and parking challenges were noted, the property's cleanliness and modern amenities contributed to a pleasant stay for many.
The property generally received positive remarks on cleanliness, with guests finding it very clean and well-maintained. However, a few guests mentioned minor issues such as light bulbs not working and a slug in the kitchen, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for being central and close to local amenities, with easy access to restaurants, bars, and shops. Its proximity to Bowness and availability of nearby walks added to the positive experience.
Most guests found the beds comfortable and the house cozy, with ample space for large groups. Some concerns were raised about cold rooms and a draughty bathroom, which suggests room for improvement in comfort during adverse weather.
Facilities like the hot tub, cinema room, and pool table were highlights, but guests noted issues with parking, kitchen equipment, and some maintenance aspects. The mixed feedback on the practicality of en-suite bathrooms and kitchen amenities influenced the score.
There is no mention of gifts or special touches from the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness category accurately. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Especially upstairs family bathroom. Television in front room way to high. Downstairs you can hear next door very plainly, as if in the same room as you. Also cold. We would not recommend staying at this house.

The house decor is very clean and modern with 5 lovely bedrooms. Everyone commented on how comfy the beds were. The downstairs pool room is perfect for having everyone together and the house felt big enough for the 10 of us. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back and stay here!

The downstairs space with pool table and large screen TV was huge, so we could spend time as a group together comfortably. Having a toilet and fridge down there were a bonus. The hot tub was also a treat, not massively hot though. Although the kitchen had enough space for us to sit together to eat, the resources weren't all good. There was chipped crockery, a pair of children's scissors rather than proper kitchen scissors, no tongs, not enough coasters or place mats etc. We always look for accommodation to go away at the same time each year and we cook a huge Christmas dinner on the Saturday of our stay and although we managed, as self catering accommodation, the kitchen could be better equipped. During the last 17 years of using large accommodations, this is possibly the first one that didn't have a welcome hamper with milk and local treats. We would definitely recommend The Willows for a group of adults but be aware of its faults. One 'en-suite' can be made do with, but not great, with the shower virtually over the toilet and the shared bathroom really belongs as an en-suite to one of the rooms. As we've holidayed together so often, it was manageable. We were there at the same time as storm Darragh and two of the rooms, with lakeland slate as walls literally let a hooley blow through and until getting into bed we avoided being in there, especially at the top of the house, as it was so cold. Once in bed it was fine because as with the other rooms, the bed was so comfy. We needed a change of pillow in one of the rooms and this was provided by the amazing staff at the office, where we collected the keys. We would recommend interaction with the local staff as they were very accommodating and friendly. We would definitely return, probably next year, but a little bit of tuning of the smaller details wouldn't go amiss.
