Guests say

Tower Cottage in Windermere is praised for its stunning views, spacious garden, and proximity to local amenities. Guests appreciate the property's location and the layout, which includes multiple bathrooms and lounges. While some guests mention maintenance issues, the charm of the cottage and its setting often outweigh these concerns.

Several reviews mention poor general cleanliness, with specific references to cobwebs, grime, and a need for a deep clean. These recurring comments suggest that cleanliness is an area needing improvement.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to Windermere town, the lake, and local footpaths. The garden and views are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to a high score for location.

Comfort receives mixed reviews. While some guests find the beds comfortable and the lounges lovely, others criticize the comfort of the sofas and seating arrangements. The lack of comfortable evening relaxation options has been noted.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good number of bathrooms. However, maintenance issues with appliances, showers, and garden upkeep are noted, affecting the score.

There is insufficient information to score thoughtfulness accurately. While a bottle of wine and a pen for the dog are mentioned as thoughtful touches, there is not enough consistent feedback on gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to provide a score.

Wow! Quite simply, the vista from the front of Tower Cottage is one of the finest we've seen. Lake and mountain views to die for! Combine this with a high-end, super-stylish interior and a characterful and homely living environment, and you have a real Lakelovers favourite! Stunning accommodation for 6 on the edge of popular Windermere village in this elegantly converted former coach house.

It's fair to say you will be mesmerised by the views from the wide picture windows that look from the front of Tower Cottage over the beautiful garden and to the Lakeland peaks beyond. What would just be a painting hung on the wall in most other homes is simply the everyday outlook here! Watch the many moods of Lakeland dapple over the superb scenery from the comfort of your holiday hideaway.

Elegant and eclectic, the modern stylings that run through Tower Cottage have that sought-after sleek designer touch, with cool neutrals accentuating the sense of space and light provided by those fabulous panoramic picture windows, and wonderfully warm accent colours giving a real sense of identity and homeliness.

With all the attractions of Windermere village on your doorstep, as well as nearby Bowness and the walker's hub of Ambleside, there are so many adventures to be had here, and the best of these come when you get a map and some stout boots and discover the famous fells for yourselves. Back home, the hammocks and swings in the dreamy garden, with its lovely wildlife pond, make for a blissfully relaxing kind of adventure in their own right!

Tower Cottage is a premium choice for our Lakelovers to fully relax in and thoroughly discover the delights of the Lake District. With enormous windows and fabulous views, the comfortable sofas are set on wooden floors, around a 'Hwan' Danish circular wood-burner and surrounded by picture windows. The kitchen and dining area are pleasantly open to the lounge but set apart by contrasting slate floors.

The first super king size bedroom is on this level, with underfloor heated Lakeland slate bathroom.

Upstairs to the second lounge with TV and games section, panoramic box bay window and sleek white leather sofas.

Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Showers were excellent (although a bit more lighting in the wet room would be useful for those like me who like a shower before bed). The kitchen has everything you’ll need if cooking for yourself. We only used the downstairs bedroom but the bed was seriously comfortable. The garden is huge but not enclosed so we made sure we always went out with the dogs. Windermere village and associated pubs/takeaways/restaurants is a 10-15 minute walk away. Bowness is about a 30 minute walk via the path at the bottom of the garden. I drive an iPace and would not recommend trying to park with anything bigger as the approach road and turning area in front of the cottage are a bit tight. Only issue for me is there could be a blind on the side window as a path runs a few feet from it and people do like looking in! One guy actually waved at my wife as she was sitting down

Especially the garden is a delight with the impressive sequoia tree as highlight in it. In two occasions we spotted some deer grazing in the back. The house has got an easy access to several public footpaths - ideal for walking experiences to Bowmere, Grasmere and obviously Windermere itself. We truly enjoyed our stay and had lots of morning and evening walks to the lake with our dog. The house itself is spacious, with three bathrooms , a large kitchen and comfortable beds.In the evening we were able to admire the sun set through the large window overseeing the extended garden. We would surely recommend Tower Cottage to everyone for it is very suitable for doglovers and, or a family with adult children like ours. The kitchen though, might need a little upgrade; some more pots and pans would be handy, also the oven needs some maintenance. Just a note for the owner; most holiday homes provide hand soap and commons spices for their guests but there were not. Fortunately, a Booth was in walking distance.
