The Getaway could be a lovely holiday home with improvements but the location is really poor. To get to the Getaway you need to drive down a dirt road full of potholes and past several unkempt properties not giving a good first impression of where you will be staying. On arrival the outlook is dreadful facing onto one of the run down derelict houses with rubbish and empty old fridges in the garden. In addition to this the caravan sites which are directly over the garden fence impacts on the view. The supposed welcome pack was an actual joke with opened stale items. The only item not opened was a packet of dog biscuits and we don’t even have a dog! Whilst staying there we did not sleep much due to the noise of the heat pump outside the bedroom windows and the poor quality pillows and duvets which were hard and lumpy. The bungalow on the whole was clean but very sparse and could do with new cutlery and sharper knives, additional tea towels, blinds on the kitchen windows and new towels. It all needs updating! We struggled to get the key out of the door which also needs attention. However, even though there were many things that could be improved it is a good sized property and is value for the money paid. The beach at Hemsby and in fact all along this coast are stunning and there are plenty of beautiful walks along the broads.

Absolutely beautiful property.It was a little difficult to find at first but the owner was so helpful when we phoned him for directions.Set in a peaceful location and only 10 minute walk from Hemsby Veach and the lovely Beach Cafè.The garden is dog friendly and there is a nice little necking area to sit on.
