  We were slightly on the fence about booking here due to a few of the reviews, mainly about the lack of heating, but in the end we booked it as it had a better location than some of the other similar options we had for the area. It excelled our expectations especially based on previous reviews. There were a few reviews saying the WI-FI and signal was really bad, whilst we booked the break to get away from emails etc so wasn’t fussed about not sitting on our phones all day, we were slightly worried it would complicate planning our day trips and routes etc. If you’re on the fence about booking this due to previous reviews of WI-FI/signal issues you shouldn’t worry, I think they must have updated it recently as we had absolutely no issues with WI-FI or signal the entire time we were there and it was absolutely fine. Another concern we had was a few reviews saying there was a lack of heating in the bedroom. We were worried using the hot tub it would make it hard to dry towels, swimming costume etc but I think this is another thing they’ve updated. The heating was actually better than our heating at home and we actually had to turn it down as it was so warm in the bedroom over night which was the opposite of what we expected and a great problem to have. Hot tub was great, is hidden away from view so you have privacy the whole time so don’t worry about being overlooked by the golf course. We didn’t use the golf course but the surroundings were very pretty. We only ate in one night but the kitchen was well equipped with lots of cutlery, plates etc, big fridge and there was a dishwasher and washing machine stocked with cleaning products. Location is great, easy to find and it was only a 45 minute drive to Cambridge where we went on a day trip one day. We also visited the little village of Downham Market and walked around to see the windmill on site, if you have a spare half day then definitely worth a visit, the village had a lovely second hand book shop. We didn’t encounter the staff at all (which given we had no issues was great) the chap I spoke to on the arrival day to explain we would be a bit late was great and put us at ease that it was no issue hitting traffic and getting there after the golf course had shut. We were a couple but I think if you had 2 children or were going with a couple who didn’t mind sleeping in single beds (the spare bedroom has 2 singles) then there’s plenty of space to do so. Enough parking space for 2 cars too. There’s also 2 bathrooms/showers including a bath which is very convenient when you’re using the hot tub and saving some time in the mornings. We’d also strongly recommend checking out the local restaurant 5 minutes away called Arbuckles. It’s a local restaurant that is kind of like a non chain version of TGI Fridays with better food. We had dinner there and breakfast there twice and would definitely recommend it, very conveniently located to the lodge especially if you want breakfast before a day trip or are coming home for dinner.

  As above no WiFi and no central hearing in bedrooms apart from that was lovely.

  Amazing sight. Staff and general people were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be visiting again. I’d recommend to both families and couples.
