Nestled in a quiet side row, Sweet Pea Cottage, a semi-detached property, provides a great coastal holiday base from which to explore the local area and, while its location is quiet, it has lots of local facilities and conveniences on hand. Named after a 12th century Lord, Heacham is situated on a coastal area known as The Wash and is in the heart of lots of beautiful beaches and tourist attractions. For all the fun of the fair, you can head to Hunstanton where the beach seems to literally go on for miles, and you will find a small fairground, traditional seaside amusements and a Sea Life Centre. Norfolk Lavender, Caithness Crystal and Langham Glass are all close by and also within easy reach lies the city of King’s Lynn with its historical old quarter and guided walks. For a traditional seaside resort, you should head to Wells-next-the-Sea, with its narrow gauge railway and picturesque quay. In fact, it’s a great place for pottering, enjoying the mix of traditional and artisan shops and numerous places to eat. Add in National Trust properties and stately homes such as Holkham Hall, great walks and cycle routes, golf courses, bird watching and wildlife viewing opportunities, you will quickly see why this part of the Norfolk coast is so very popular. Garden needs some attention. A lock on the bathroom door would be more private.

We enjoyed our stay and would return. However bathroom definitely needs an upgrade - shower head doesn’t stay in position so had to hold it, mould around bath. Doorway between kitchen and conservatory is very dangerous and needs a mind your head sign. Multiple head injuries over this weekend! A small welcome pack would have been a nice touch - make sure you are prepared to take tea towels, towels, washing up liquid etc as none provided. Heacham a good base to explore Norfolk. Nice curry at spice garden that accommodated a large family of 17!

Having stayed for one week in the cottage, we found it in an excellent position for the beach and bus services etc. we found the local pubs poor with the exception of the sports and social club which was excellent although not serving food the week we were there. The cottage was cosy and warm with brilliant central heating. Fairly comfortable. Free Wi-Fi, well equipped kitchen. but the oven was disgustingly filthy with old fat in the bottom and grill pan very dirty with old food left. Going upstairs the bannister was dirty and my wife had to clean it, also the stairs were very difficult to climb and descend even though we were fairly able bodied. The bathroom as previous comments from at least two years previous was very poor. The toilet seat was broken, the bath taps and shower were beyond repair and the seal around the bath needed replacing. In fact the whole bathroom required a full refurbish. Maybe replace the bath with a shower. Having said all the adverse comments, with a little updating the cottage would be a little gem and would definitely recommend.
