You can easily head to the seafront for a refreshing swim and a traditional day beside the sea, complete with beach huts, amusement arcades and ice-cream joints to satisfy your sweet tooth. Cromer Pier (0.5 miles) stretches out over the North Sea and is home to the Pavilion Theatre, and you can sample locally caught Cromer crab in the town’s cafés, restaurants and seafood shops (0.5 miles). Independent shops add to the classic seaside atmosphere. For adventures further afield, pop to Sheringham (4 miles), another Victorian resort with a great selection of shops and cafés. Keen to get out in nature? The surrounding Norfolk Coast National Landscape is also brimming with nature reserves, varied walking routes and excellent opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting.
