Hidden away in quiet countryside just beyond Holt, this handcrafted shepherd’s hut invites couples and solo travellers to slow the pace and reconnect with nature. Wake to fresh air and lake views before heading out to explore nearby trails. Holt Country Park (1 mile) weaves through woodland and open heath, while Holt itself (2 miles) is known for its Georgian charm, independent shops and welcoming cafes. A little further on, the sweeping landscapes of the North Norfolk Coast (6 miles) bring wide sandy beaches, salt marshes and expansive skies, including Sheringham and Cley-next-the-Sea (all within 8 miles) – at Blakeney, you can hop on a boat trip to the seals. The tranquil waterways of the Norfolk Broads (20 miles) are well worth exploring by boat or on foot.

Designed in the spirit of traditional shepherds' huts, this cosy retreat combines rustic character with thoughtful comforts. Sunlight filters through the windows, while insulation keeps things warm when the temperature drops. Inside, there's a double bed, a compact kitchenette, a wood burner, and bar-style seating, along with an en-suite shower and soft, ambient lighting that enhance the atmosphere. Logs, fire starters and matches are all supplied for the wood burner, along with charcoal for the BBQ, setting the scene for easy evenings by the fire.

Outside, deck chairs, hammocks and a fire pit look out across the lake, creating a lovely spot to sit back and take in the surroundings. Parking for one car is available on-site, so you can come and go with ease. This is a true off-grid stay, with no electricity for devices, no Wi-Fi and limited mobile signal – encouraging you to fully switch off and savour the calm of the natural environment.
