About this property
Dating back to 1848, Keepers Cottage is a former Victorian gamekeepers cottage situated in the hamlet of West Barsham. Tastefully renovated throughout and retaining many original and characterful features, including a stunning beamed 27ft lounge with snooker table, this hideaway is surrounded by open countryside with an abundance of wildlife, and wonderful country walks that can be enjoyed directly from the cottage. The coastal resort of Wells-next-the-sea is just seven miles away.
Boasting four bedrooms (master en suite, double and two twin rooms) and a spacious family bathroom, this home from home offers an abundance of space. The ground floor comprises of a large well-equipped, open plan kitchen with an adjoining dining area where a generous farmhouse table provides ample seating for everyone. With original beams, the stunning lounge features patio doors that open out to the patio with garden furniture - a lovely spot for a morning coffee or evening meal. The snooker table in this room entices guest's competitive side. And when the game is won, relax into the comfy sofas and spend quality time making wonderful memories.
Outside, this rural hideaway is approached via a no-through country lane. The enclosed gardens feature a large lawn and al fresco patio dining area. The secure gated parking area is for the exclusive use of Keepers Cottage guests and is suitable for two cars, making it safe and secure for all the family. There are no other dwellings within ¼ mile of the property, making Keepers Cottage an idyllic place for bird watching, star gazing, walking, cycling, or simply relaxing.
From the door you can walk for miles along ancient farm tracks and barely meet a soul. Less than ten minutes away by foot is Barsham Brewery Taproom and Shop which hosts regular pop-up street food events. Nearby is Sculthorpe Moor nature reserve and the bustling market town of Fakenham, plus the cottage is only fifteen minutes from Wells-next-the-Sea, Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall, and the north Norfolk coastline.
