Relax in style at this impressive yurt sitting in a complex of eight yurts on the grounds of Norfolk’s magnificent Raynham Estate. Sleeping five people in one super-king-size bed and three singles, it’s a superb choice for small families or groups of friends in search of a glamping experience par excellence in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. The wonderful 18th-century Houghton Hall is just 8 miles away. Commissioned by Britain’s first Prime Minister, Robert Walpole, today its opulent staterooms and deer-dotted grounds are a joy to explore. Alternatively, sample some of the fine ales on offer in the taproom at Barsham Brewery (7 miles), or head off to Fakenham Racecourse (4 miles) to treat yourself to a day of racing thrills and spills. Further afield, make your way to Morston Quay (19 miles) and hop on a boat to visit the seal colony at Blakeney Point.
Step inside your chic glamping yurt and take a moment to appreciate the traditional wood burner, pale wood floor, and the impressive lattice work adorning the soaring circular ceiling. This surprisingly large space is bathed in natural light pouring in through a central skylight. There’s a generous super-king-size bed and three singles.
Outside your yurt, you’ll discover a peaceful space with a charcoal BBQ, picnic bench and firepit – the ideal spot for fun al fresco dinners under the stars. Add a little luxury to your evening and indulge in a relaxing dip in your yurt’s private wood-fired hot tub, before you make a beeline for the firepit. Shared facilities include a kitchen/dining area and a shower block with a private shower and WC for your use. Private parking is available for two cars.
