The nearby towns of Harleston and Diss offer a variety of independent and high street shops, cafés, supermarkets and more restaurants. Diss has a train station with direct links to London, Norwich and the coastal villages. For the ultimate shopping and cultural experience visit the city of Norwich, just 15 miles away with two indoor shopping malls, cathedral, castle museum, market square, theatre, cafés and many restaurants. The Norfolk and Suffolk coastline offers lovely beaches to explore - Southwold is a traditional seaside town with a pier, lighthouse and glorious promenade of colourful beach huts, plus delicious fish and chips and home to the world famous Adnams brewery.

My family and I found The Old Bakery suitable for our accommodation needs, the ground floor bedroom was ideal for my 92 year old Mother. A very relaxing comfortable property set a pretty Norfolk village, with a convenient little shop and 2 pubs. The Crown has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Old Bakery is in a good location to reach many of Norfolks villages, towns and coastal areas. Norwich is well worth a visit.I would recommend The Old Bakery.

We had a wonderful stay at The Old Bakery. The cottage was beautiful, with so much room inside and a lovely garden too. The beds were really comfortable and everything we could possibly have needed, was provided. Theresa was very welcoming and friendly, even checking that we were warm enough on the first evening! The location is great, a cute little village. Quiet and peaceful, but with a pub next door if football, pool or darts is your thing. Another pub just over the green has an open fire and serves lovely food. There are lots of places to walk and explore, or a short drive to other sights. Lots of local places are dog-friendly, which was great for us. Everything was perfect for our little family break. I would definitely recommend The Old Bakery!
