Staindrop is a lovely Teesdale village, closely associated with the fortunes of nearby Raby Castle, one of the most grand castles in England. Only the medieval heart remains along with a walled garden and 200 acre deer park. In the village, there are a variety of interesting shops, pubs and cafés, on a picturesque green surrounded by beautiful scenery. Staindrop is a great location for visitors interested in history, wanting to escape the hustle and bustle, and enjoy long walks in the countryside.

There are 3 lodges set in a very private, peaceful location. The lodges are really well equipped, lovely shower room, large bed, wood fired hot tub. The hosts Steven and Mary are extremely helpful and such a nice couple, nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be back.
