Beautiful property and well maintained. Bit noisy in the morning when children heading to the school across the road but not detrimental to the enjoyment of the property. Always managed to park outside the property on the road. Everything you need to cook a lovely meal (could provide a ninja to save energy). Lovely comfy beds. Stanhope is a jewel as it has everything from the bakers, butchers, cafes, co-op and a wool shop (Lynne is amazing!). Dales Centre is worth a look as it has lots of lovely craft shops. Very quiet in the evening - could hear the owls hooting.

We had a lovely week staying at The Croft. We were blessed with hot weather, but the cottage stayed nice and cool. Stanhope is a beautiful village, the stepping stones at the river were welcomed in the heat! Great base for exploring Weardale, we visited Beamish, Hamsterley forest, High Force Waterfall and the Weardale heritage railway, lots to do!
