The Lumiere Festival takes place every couple of years in November and brings the city to life with live art, music and light shows in the open air theatre that the city becomes. A little further afield but still within an easy 30 minute drive, guests will be able to take a day trip out to the very popular Beamish Living Museum of the North, see the famous Angel of the North statue in Gateshead, enjoy a day’s shopping at the MetroCentre and explore the vibrant city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The house was absolutely wonderful. Everything was clean and was a lovely layout to a high spec.. garden was lovely, but I was worried it wasn’t enclosed, but then I shut the gate so it was totally enclosed for my puppy. Would love to return to the beautiful home.

Beautiful accommodation. Hosts were so helpful and unobtrusive and left a very informative folder. Great location for walking, Beamish and Durham and within short walk of village amenities including local transport. There were welcome treats in the cottage( thank you). We would highly recommended this property and would love to come back.

The cottage is stunning, very spacious and comfortable, with the added wood burner and jacuzzi, just made it even more relaxing. Going in the jacuzzi in the garden to then come inside and sit by the fire, peace and quiet reading a book.
