  Whilst the property was well equipped it did look like it had been furnished with odds and sods.

  The cleanliness was poor and the property was very tired with some furniture and various decorating issues. There were trailing wires in the lounge which could have caused problems. There were cables hanging down underneath the kitchen cupboards. These are really a safeguarding issue. Upon contacting Sykes the call handler made all the right noises regarding attending to same and promised to call back. When chasing the same handler said they had contacted the owner as Sykes were not responsible for maintenance of property. I disagreed as I had a contract with them not the owner and asked for their Manager to call me which never happen. I’ve did contact owner but didn’t come to inspect the property and I provided photos and a video to highlight the state of the accommodation. When highlighting the state of the back space and rotten gate the owner said the outside space wasn’t really for use but there is a washing machine and line plus an outside shed for the storage of bikes if needed. The gate could not be used so if s bike was being stored it would have had to go through the cottage.

  The cottage was in a superb location, very well equipped (above and beyond expectations) and comfortable.

  The only downside was the kitchen, which had no full size oven (there was a convection oven and microwave) and was very compact with hard to reach cupboards that were rather high. However, feedback from the owners in the visitor book suggests they plan to knock through into the existing second bathroom to extend the kitchen space and enhance its convenience/use of space. I feel this would be a great plan and if this work were completed we would rebook without hesitation. Overall we loved the Victorian charm of the property, the cleanliness and everything else about it! It is only a short walk from Amble harbour village and only a short drive away from all of Northumberland's scenic treasures.

  Lovely, clean, warm and well equipped house.

  Comfortable beds and one of the few cottages, that we have stayed at, with good mirrors and lighting for make-up/shaving. Excellent base for local attractions and good restaurants. Small back yard with plants in pots and bench, which gets the sun in the afternoon. No space for children to play in yard. People with mobility problems may find steepness of stairs and step arrangement from bedrooms to bathroom awkward, especially at night. The house is on a quiet street but there is no off-road parking and parking is at a premium, especially on Sundays! We enjoyed our stay and, judging by the comments in the visitor's book, so have many others!

  We had a great stay at Creel Cottage.

  The cottage was well equipped, clean and cosy. Being a 3 bed worked well for our family. Creel Cottage is situated in a perfect location. Parking was on adjacent road which wasn’t an issue for us, as we always managed to find a space. From the cottage we were able to stroll along the sand dunes to the beaches or walk into town. We explored the local area around Amble - it could be a castle, a beach, a sea trip to Coquet Island. Recommending evening meals at the Harbour and the Boat House. We found plenty to do within our weeks stay and plan to return back at some point. Many thanks to the owner for a great stay :-)

  Creel cottage was furnished to a very high standard, comfortable beds, superb kitchen, spotless throughout and a powerful shower that actually works as intended.

  The cottage is much larger than it looks from the outside. It is in a great position, 150 or so yards to a rocky beach with fabulous views. A perfect place to unwind after a day exploring this beautiful part of the UK. The owners have gone to great lengths to think of everything that the guest would require with quality fixtures and fittings. Please pass on our thanks. Note : When we arrived we were slightly confused where to park after unloading the car as not to upset any neighbours, but there was plenty of spaces a minute walk away near the park.
