This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland’s Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a smuggler's haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop, two pubs and a café serving food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket and restaurants, and it also offers boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle and Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away.

It's a spacious, clean, well appointed property with excellent views, ideally situated. Sadly, this visit was somewhat marred by the construction work going on at the adjacent property. The builders themselves were pleasant enough, and the work clearly outside the ability of 'Dell Point's owners to control, but there were times when we found ourselves disturbed by noisy construction work before 7am. I don't think this is acceptable, or something that we should be expected to tolerate. 'Staycation' holidays are not a cheap option, and it's a pity this must be considered when planning future bookings. Having said that, I can appreciate that coastal properties need to be maintained and renovated - 'Dell Point' being an example - and that this work needs to be undertaken when the weather is favourable. Just not before 7am, OK?! More positively, I would like to add that when we had an issue with the plumbing, calling the provided contact number for help was met with an immediate response, and our issue was quickly resolved. Many thanks for that. We have already booked up for next September (best out of three?!). Hopefully by then, the only potential issue will be the expected one: The Great British Weather.

It is very well appointed and has everything you could possibly think you need in a holiday cottage. It is exactly as shown on the photos, it is very very clean and has a wonderful wee back area which is sheltered and lovely to sit out and enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine. The layout is quite quirky as it is on three levels but this gives it a feeling of space and somewhere for everyone to enjoy. The front picture window looks straight out to sea and I never tired of watching the seabirds and changing light on the waves. The sunrise was breathtaking - crimson like you wouldn't believe. Seahouses is just a couple of miles away and has lots of facilities, Beadnell has a village feel to it and wonderful walks on the terrific beaches which just seem to go on forever. We have already booked for next year as we wouldn't want to miss out on what was an excellent holiday and look forward to enjoying another week in Dell Point. Just loved it.
