The beach has lovely views towards Berwick (1.5 miles), where you can explore the Elizabethan Town Walls and the site of a ruined castle, as well as a choice of shops, bars and restaurants. For a family day out, the Ford and Etal estate is 10.5 miles away, offering steam train rides, heavy horses, tours of a working water mill and more. Bamburgh Castle, a Grade 1 listed building, is just a half-hour drive away.
