About this property

Cornhill-on-Tweed 3.8 miles. Nestled in Northumberland’s countryside in the charming village of Crookham near Cornhill-on-Tweed is The Coach House. Recognised as the oldest unfortified building in Northumberland, this wonderful holiday home benefits from an array of characterful features paying homage to its vivid history, including original stone flooring, gothic windows, Grade II listed staircase and doors and exposed beams and a wonderful setting close to Northumberland National Park and the Scottish Borders; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore the North with three of their beloved canine companions. Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and unwind on the plush sofas in the sitting room while the gentle crackle of the open fire warms the room. The tranquilly and breath-taking beauty of the surrounding countryside make it a popular destination for hikers, bikers, and golfers, while the River Tweed draws many anglers. The Collingwood Arms, a country inn renowned for its excellent beer and food, and a post office/shop that stocks most essentials, characterise the town. The Heritage Coast of Northumberland is easily accessible from Cornhill and features historic castles, miles of beautiful sandy beaches with views of the North Sea, and an abundance of flora and fauna in the dunes. Visitors can easily explore the area's rich history by driving to Alnwick to see the Norman Castle, garden, and unique poison garden. A beautiful cottage in a lovely area. We also appreciated our welcome pack. There was seven of us and we all said how we all enjoyed it and all of the beds were so comfy too. The Todd Family

Lots of space and bedrooms. We were a party of 6 adults and 3 children + 1 dog. The weather was very wet so having space and hiding places for hide and seek was perfect. Darren was very welcoming and attentive and the welcome pack was appreciated by us all.

Great Coach House with everything you needed and more. Lovely and warm to come back to after a day exploring. Plenty of space for 10 people - 3 generations. Children enjoyed feeding the chickens. Great location. Would really recommend. The welcome pack was just what we needed to kick start the holiday. Thanks Darren for a great stay.
