Reiver's Rest is a well-received cottage in Northumberland, praised for its comfortable beds, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a welcoming atmosphere. While some mention the property's rustic charm and character, others note the need for modernisation in the kitchen and bathroom. The estate offers lovely walks and is pet-friendly, making it a hit with families and dog owners.
The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its spotless condition upon arrival. The provision of fresh linen and towels contributes to the high cleanliness standards experienced by guests.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful countryside, and proximity to local amenities and attractions. The estate's private setting and access to walking trails are particularly appreciated, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers and those seeking peace.
Guests find the beds extremely comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the open fire. However, some guests mention that the property can be cold and the seating in the lounge could be more comfortable, slightly affecting the overall comfort score.
While the cottage is well-equipped for a pleasant stay, several reviews point out issues with the kitchen appliances and bathroom facilities, suggesting they are dated and in need of an upgrade. The mention of a small and slow cooker, as well as a cramped bathroom, indicates room for improvement in this category.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtful gestures, such as providing fresh flowers, cake, and wood for the fire. These touches enhance the guest experience, although it is noted that such gifts, while delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed for every stay.

Have been here twice now and we love it. Lots of lovely little touches in the cottage to make your holiday special, and the grounds are beautiful to walk through. The dark skies are amazing at night, as well as listening to the owls. It's a really special place.

Helpful and friendly owner. Comfortable beds and traditionally furnished. Plenty of crockery, pans, etc. Lots of parking and outside sitting areas. Would definitely book again - thanks.
