The location is generally appreciated for its quietness and proximity to nature, although some guests note the distance to shops and the lack of mobile signal as drawbacks.
The cottage is described as comfortable and cosy, with underfloor heating and a clean bed. However, a few guests found the duvet too heavy for summer and the lack of Wi-Fi a minor inconvenience.
Facilities are adequate with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and welcome gifts. However, the absence of Wi-Fi and issues with hot water and phone signal have been noted.
Many guests express gratitude for the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts of wine and biscuits, though it's politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Most Britains live within densely populated areas where light pollution allows only a handful of stars to be seen through an orange glow. Here at The Left Luggage Office you can feast your eyes up to thousands of stars. Among the highlights is the Milky Way. It’s something that the vast majority of us will never see, but within the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park you can view it in all its glory. Use binoculars and you can marvel at its arms stretching out on both sides of its bright central core. This wonder of the universe is 2.5 million light years away! Other astronomical phenomena you can look out for during your stay include the Aurora Borealis (more commonly known as the Northern Lights), and the occasional spectacular meteor shower. These shooting stars are grains of dust from the tails of comets burning up when they enter the Earth’s atmosphere. To continue your stargazing odyssey there is the Kielder Observatory. This hugely popular attraction is located on the top of Black Fell, just up the road near Kielder Village, and is run by the Kielder Observatory Astronomical Society. The observatory is a must visit for those wanting to make the most of their Dark Sky stay.
The Left Luggage Office is the perfect location to enjoy all the Northumberland countryside has to offer. This bijou property is tastefully furnished offering stylish holiday accommodation for couples. Built on one level, there is an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with underfloor heating throughout. It has a separate double bedroom and a contemporary shower room. The property is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season. As well as stargazing, The Left Luggage Office is the perfect base to enjoy the many outdoor activities at Kielder Water and Kielder Forest, northern Europe’s largest man-made lake and forest. This little cottage was absolutely spotless and had everything you needed, the only problem I had was the white tiles, with a golden retriever and it pouring down I was a nervous wreck, pleased I took a lot of doggy towels to put in entrance. It was the little touches we liked ( gifts of wine and biscuits). We visited the blackcock inn in Falstone as the only dog friendly pub in the village, which is not open on a Monday,Tues, and Wednesday. Plenty in Bellingham though .

Hot water was ran by solar panels. Boost if needed but need to wait 2 hour for it to warm. No phone signal or WiFi. 17 miles to nearest shops apart from a tea room. We left on Monday didn't stop for the week.
