Sorry, no hen or stag parties.. The Old Chapel in Slaley is a beautiful property, completely refurbished in 2020. The sheer quality and the owners’ eye for detail is evident from the moment you walk through the door. The living, kitchen and dining areas are all open plan on the ground floor with a large wood burner and arched French doors. The ground floor also boasts a bedroom and a beautiful shower room. Upstairs is just as impressive with three stunning bedrooms with 6ft luxurious beds, and in one room the en-suite has a superb roll top bath. A snug on the first floor is perfect for relaxing with a good book or enjoying a bit of quiet time watching TV. The Old Chapel is the perfect place for a family holiday or a luxury break with friends.
Slaley is a delightful Northumberland village, perfect for walkers, cyclists and ramblers as there are many routes to take that lead directly from The Old Chapel and out into the beautiful countryside. There are two pubs in the village so after a day exploring, just take a short stroll and you can enjoy a well earned meal or drink.
The market town of Hexham is only 6 miles away and offers a variety of shops and restaurants. Enjoy the historical sites the town has to offer at Hexham Abbey or the Old Gaol. A must visit is to the pretty little village of Corbridge, again only 6 miles away.
Whilst staying at The Old Chapel, the world famous Hadrian’s Wall is just a few miles away where you can take a walk along the path of the wall or explore one of the Roman Forts and settlements including Chesters, Vindolanda and Housesteads. Return after your day exploring to the luxury of The Old Chapel. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Absolutely amazing place, probably the best holiday accomodation I've stayed in. Stayed with my husband & friends celebrating 2 big birthdays & we loved it. The renovation is of a very high standard, beautifully furnished & well equipped with everything you'll need for you stay. Plenty of parking space at the front & fabulous garden furniture & bbq in the private back garden. It's in a quiet village location but a pub and small community shop is 5 min walk away. Hexham is a 15 min drive & great if you need somewhere a little busier with restaurants, pubs & shops. The helpful owners only next door so handy if we needed any advice. We were sad to leave & would definitely recommend The Old Chapel.

The old chapel is stunning & comfortable, probably the best place we’ve stayed. The local community is friendly & welcoming especially at the Rose & Crown pub which do excellent meals & Sunday lunch. The village is small & quiet so a car is essential unless you like the walks & another pub further down the road do excellent buns, cakes & meals & the owner even drove us back to the village as my partner couldn’t manage the walk back which was so kind of him. The highlight of our stay had to be the Chapel with its stunning interior & the friendly owner Helena was on hand if we needed anything but everything was perfect so would highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed.

Fantastic week away at The Old Chapel, spending quality time with four generations of family. The Old Chapel is probably the best holiday home that we have stayed in. The internal layout allows everyone to be social and interact whilst in the kitchen or lounge with the open plan format. It was also fabulous that it had a downstairs bedroom with en-suite for an older person. The house is so well maintained with lovely bed linen and towels, and not forgetting that the beds themselves were so comfortable. The house was just absolutely perfect and the decor throughout was so tasteful. The garden was so peaceful and although our weather wasn’t sitting outside weather, the views were so beautiful. The owners have done an amazing job. Thanks again to Helena for Welcome Basket, so a nice touch. Loved the house, the area and not forgetting the Rose &Crown pub for great food. We will definitely be back.
