April House in Morpeth receives high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location close to the sea and local amenities. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, and comfortable beds. The property is dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like local treats adding to the welcoming atmosphere. While parking is generally manageable, some guests suggest minor improvements for an even better stay.
Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, mentioning it is 'very clean', 'well kept', and 'freshly decorated'. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experience.
The location is highly praised for being close to the sea, harbour, and town centre, with easy access to local attractions, shops, and dog-friendly spots. Its proximity to the beach and amenities makes it an ideal spot for visitors.
Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the beds 'wonderfully comfortable' and the house 'cosy and comfortable'. One guest mentioned a heavy duvet being too hot, but overall, comfort levels are rated highly.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a 'well-equipped kitchen' and 'lovely modern bathroom'. Some guests suggest adding a handrail in the bathroom and note the absence of a downstairs toilet. The lack of a spare toilet roll in one instance suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

Amble has bespoke shops, plenty of cafes, fish and chip shops and a highly acclaimed Italian-style ice cream parlour all within easy walking distance.
A stroll along the estuary leads you to Warkworth (about 2 miles). It is a picture postcard village with the castle sat at the top of the hill. Stop off in one of the friendly pubs or cafes. Further along the coast you come to Craster, Seahouses and Bamburgh, all steeped in history and lovely for a day out exploring. A little further north you can cross the tidal causeway and visit Holy Island (check the crossing time).
The railway station at Alnmouth is only a few minutes’ drive where you can board a train to Edinburgh or Newcastle and spend a great day exploring these historic cities steeped in history. Alnwick is only 15 minutes away with its majestic castle used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes. A great experience for both adults and children where you can look around the historic town exploring the cobbled streets and shops.
The beaches up the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty remain unspoilt and under-populated, so there is always a place to find some seclusion should you wish. Cresswell and Druridge Bay beaches remain isolated most of the time and are only a short drive. Whilst in Northumberland why not take a trip over to Hadrian’s Wall for a completely different day trip away from the coast and discover more about the Romans and the famous Roman wall. Wherever you go in this super friendly county you will be sure of a real warm ’Geordie’ welcome from the locals.

Beautiful very clean, warm and cosy property. Close to all amenities, good fish n chip shop just around the corner called Harbour Fish Bar. Couple of nice pubs nearby too all within walking distance. Had some nice walks with our dog. We visited near by Seahouses, Alnwick and Bamburgh.

Having stayed in Amble twice before in other properties I would say that this one is the most appealing. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable and deceptive in size. Somewhere I would definitely stay again. We were only here a few days with dry weather however if it's a young family be aware there isn't a washing machine albeit there is a launderette at the bottom of the road.

Enjoyed a lovely 4 days at April House. It’s well positioned a couple of minutes stroll from a small beach and there’s also a large grassy area before the beach which my dog enjoyed zooming around on just as much as the beach. We ate at the Fish Shack, a few minutes walk away towards the harbour and thoroughly recommend it for the fresh fish, friendly and prompt service and the ambiance. Also had a great meal at the Harbour pub. Warkworth beach, a 2-mile stretch of beautiful deserted sand, is about 10 mins drive around the coast. The house was a good sized terraced stone cottage, clean and freshly decorated and the beds were comfortable. Appreciated the welcome tray of tea, coffee, biscuits, jam and dog treats though it would have been nice to find some fresh milk in the fridge. We had some difficulty finding the TV channels but otherwise couldn’t fault the house and would be happy to re-book if in the area again.
