Boat trips can be taken over to Coquet Island, a rspb bird sanctuary.
Exploring is easy from here, with Alnwick only 10 miles away. Its castle is the location where some scenes were shot for the Harry Potter films, as well as the TV series, Downton Abbey. This whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of unspoilt golden beaches, castles and friendly villages, and Amble is situated at the start of it.
Hadrian’s Wall can be easily reached to the west via a good road network, and you can visit museums and see the wall where the Romans lived. Alnmouth railway station is just a few miles away, where you can leave the car and hop on a train to Edinburgh, York or Newcastle for a day’s sightseeing in beautiful cities.

House was very comfortable and any problems were promptly dealt with. Also there was a lovely welcome pack waiting when we arrived which was very much appreciated.

We absolutely loved our stay at Broughs house. It was super clean, cosy and had all the equipment necessary to make us feel like we were at home. It is a short drive from Amble where there were supermarkets, cafes and lovely walks and it was also a perfect starting point for exploring the rest of Northumberland too. We cannot recommend this cottage enough, everyone is so friendly and also super pet friendly too, our whippet loved all the fusses she was getting. Thank you, we hope to be back soon!

We had a lovely short break at Broughs House. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Small but really cute. Lovely spot to get out and about from and visit the surrounding area.
