Harbottle Lodge, nestled in Northumberland, offers a peaceful and comfortable stay with its well-equipped cabins and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. The location is praised for its proximity to tourist attractions and the quiet, secluded setting. While some guests encountered issues with hot water and maintenance, the majority enjoyed the cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and the lodge's amenities.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the lodge to be clean and comfortable, while others reported issues with stained carpets and general upkeep. The positive comments suggest a satisfactory level of cleanliness, but the negative remarks indicate room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for being peaceful, close to local attractions, and offering beautiful surroundings. Its central position for sightseeing and the quiet complex are frequently mentioned as positives.
Comfort receives positive feedback, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the lodge cosy. However, some guests mentioned uncomfortable furniture and issues with windows, which suggests that while the lodge is generally comfortable, there are aspects that could be enhanced.
Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, several reviews cite problems with the hot water system and other maintenance issues. The presence of a play area and the mention of a laundrette are positives, but the lack of a washing machine in the cabin and the need for some updates are noted.
Thoughtfulness is evident in the provision of welcome packs and extra goodies, which guests found to be a lovely touch. However, it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

So comfortable and will be booking again in the future. Very well equipped simple things like tea towels, washing up liquid and welcome pack with coffee, tea and biscuits provided, which is needed after a long drive. Thank you Wanda and Roger.

We expect a freezer compartment in the fridge. The kettle handle seemed loose and potentially dangerous. In this day and age, a non-electric kettle is outside most peoples' experience. It was also heavy and difficult to handle when full. A non-slip mat for the shower would be good. Although there is a launderette on site, there were no instructions as to how to use it, how much it cost etc. There was no obvious point of contact on site for any problems

However the outside area for all the chalets was not in good condition and looked very tired and scruffy.
