More close to hand twenty minutes drive to the north you have Alnwick an historic market town with cobbled streets famous for the magnificent Alnwick Castle, a filming location for Harry Potter and The Alnwick Garden with its unique Poison Garden.To the south Morpeth with its park and riverside walks, together with an impressive shopping area, with a mix of independent and high street brands side by side.To the west is Rothbury and Cragside a National Trust property with a network of 40 miles of footpaths that takes you under the canopy of towering trees, across timber bridges, between rugged rocks, along the banks of sparkling lakes.To the east the coastline offers gorgeous stretches of beach, offering miles of walking, costal towns, castles, together with Coquet Island, the Farne Islands and Holy Island all to explore.

Just 10 minutes’ drive to the west is the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens, whilst the Heritage Coast is just a 15-minute drive to the east, offering miles of clean sandy beaches. The historic town of Alnwick, with its impressive Castle and Garden, lies just 11 miles to the north and is well worth a visit. With the spectacular National Park also within easy reach, this superb base is ideal for exploring Northumberland or taking a relaxing break!
