Guests say

The Old Stables is a beautifully presented, spacious and cosy cottage in a peaceful setting near Rothbury. Guests consistently praise its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. The location is ideal for exploring Northumberland, with easy access to local attractions, walks, and amenities. The owners are noted for their attentive communication and thoughtful touches. While there is no garden or outdoor seating, most guests found this a minor issue given the abundance of nearby walks and scenery. The cottage is also dog-friendly and offers excellent value for money.

Cleanliness is frequently highlighted, with guests describing the cottage as spotless and very clean, even with its popularity among dog owners. No negative comments were made regarding cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to Rothbury and local attractions. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting and easy access to walks, shops, and tourist sites. A few mention the lack of outdoor space, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive impression.

Guests find the cottage extremely comfortable and cosy, with particular mention of the beds, furnishings, and log burner. One guest suggested the mattress could be firmer, but this was a rare comment among otherwise glowing feedback.

The cottage is described as very well-equipped, with everything needed for a self-catering stay. Facilities such as the kitchen, smart TV, and parking are appreciated. The main drawback noted is the absence of a garden or outdoor seating area, especially in good weather.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, wine, and biscuits, as well as the owners' helpful communication. Please note that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location. Perfect walking from the door. Cragside and Simonside a must. Rothbury has all you need. Weather was perfect. Warkworth beach with beach food shack amazing 👏 Only small thing could do with scissors and sharper knives for cooking but everything else was to hand. A home from home in a stunning location. Thank you 😊 xxxx

The cottage was very good. The only downside is that as the weather gets warmer there is no provision for sitting outside. There is no garden at this property.
