Be charmed by the quaint interior, with exposed stone walls and beams with many characterful features lovingly restored. A neat kitchen area holds an electric oven and gas hob, as well as a fridge and a microwave, amongst plenty of cupboard space for two. A breakfast area offers a clever use of space and somewhere to enjoy some home-cooked meals when you’re not dining out in the local pubs.
A snug living area is the perfect spot to cosy up in front of the TV watching one of your favourite films. Completing the layout is the bedroom area occupying a large double bed and the bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin and toilet and a heated rail to keep your towel toasty. The quayside in Amble has a Sunday weekly market and is home to the Harbour Village where small independent shopping pods sell a range of arts, crafts, accessories, food, and drink.
Head to the rpsb reserve of Coquet Island to discover puffins, terns, and eider ducks, and take a boat ride around the island to see it from a unique perspective, while wildlife lovers will also relish the chance to explore the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre and birdwatching opportunities are prominent at Druridge Bay. 6 miles North brings you to the quaint town of Alnmouth, a popular coastal village known for its excellent 18-hole golf course and its charming cycle routes. I can’t recommend The Old Wash House highly enough. A lot of thought and care has gone into the renovation and design process and preserving the original features. It is warm and cosy and perfect for me and my retired greyhound. The fresh smelling bed linen was lovely as was the welcome tray, pint of milk, doggy treats, dog towels and hand wash. The kitchen was very well equipped. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in. We hope to return. Highly recommend Cresswell Beach, a few minutes drive, free parking and very quiet, excellent café close by.
