Railston Cottage is a former coach house which has undergone a major transformation and now provides excellent self-catering accommodation to a superior standard. Originally built circa 1820 by John Railston, a local seed and grain merchant, it was created to store the horse drawn coach; it is believed the coachman/gardener and his family once lived in the floor above. Immaculately presented throughout and with much thought, care and attention to detail, Railston Cottage is the perfect choice for the gathering of families and friends or for those couples seeking something rather special.

On the ground floor there is an open plan well equipped kitchen with dining area leading to a lovely snug; this tastefully furnished lounge area boasts two large sofas, and a cosy wood burner to snuggle in front of. Coupled with modern heating system throughout, it ensures a warm welcome awaits guests to Railston Cottage whatever the season. There is a spacious kingsize bedroom with doors leading to the fully enclosed and secluded walled garden and a ’Jack and Jill’ shower room. A bright and airy sun room overlooking the private garden is the perfect sitting area to read, relax and enjoy a well earned snooze. On the first floor are a further two bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities and views across the rear garden and towards the sea in the distance.

A very nice well equipped cottage. One of the nicest we have been too over the years. Would highly recommend to anyone. If I had a small gripe it would be that some of the equipment instructions could be clearer and accurate. But this would not stop me coming again!!

Very clean and comfortable cottage with everything you need. Hosts good with communication. Just a few minor issues that could make it better. Down lighter bulb flicker, advised on day 2. Albeit not urgent should have been fixed. Kitchen blind unable to pull down so it felt cold when playing games at kitchen table when heating wasn't on. Dishwasher tray needs sorting, as only 2 of us not a major issue but had we been using it daily would have been very annoying.
