Formerly the Old Parish Hall situated on the cusp of the traditional village of Seahouses, this detached property has undergone a makeover to provide comfortable self-catering holiday accommodation conveniently located all on one level. The living has a cosy feel to it with doors leading to a conservatory overlooking the pretty garden. All three bedrooms, the family bathroom and the kitchen are also well presented.
The Old Parish Hall is located within north Sunderland and situated at the edge of Seahouses. There is a wide array of facilities including tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops all around a mile away. Boat trips to the Farne Islands, which are famous for their nesting seabirds and grey seal colonies, run from the harbour. Horse riding is available within a gentle stroll from The Old Parish Hall and there’s an impressive golf course on the links around a mile away. The picture postcard village of Bamburgh, protected by its dramatic fortress, is only 2 miles north with its wide expanse of golden, and often empty, sandy beaches, and where the tidal island of Lindisfarne, locally known as ’Holy Island’ and the birthplace of Christianity in the UK, can be viewed. A further 2 miles up the coastline brings you to Waren Mill, which is steeped in history. Once an important port, its harbour has long since disappeared, silted up beneath the sands of the estuary. Budle Bay is a bird sanctuary and at low tide a vast expanse of mud flats is the home to countless sea and land birds, making this location a haven for bird watchers. The market town of Alnwick, with its own castle offers many facilities a few miles inland. Alnwick Garden is a popular visitor attraction with its Grand Cascade Waterfall and restaurant within the largest tree house in Europe. Beach 1 mile. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

The Old Parish Hall is in a great location, a 10 minute pleasant walk from the village centre. Great to have an off road parking space at the rear of the property. It has a cosy vibe but plenty of space (good sized dining table, lots of hanging space in the wardrobes). The log burner was fantastic to come back to after a windy autumnal walk.The kitchen was well equipped, although could have done with a bit more cutlery. Shower had good pressure and there was always plenty of hot water , however the shower curtain was minging- it was covered in mould and mildew, it was black at the bottom. We washed it with hot water and bleach but couldn't get it cleaned - it just needs to be replaced. There is mould on the wall in the twin bedroom which needs addressing, and some gaps in the wood panel flooring in the hallway. As mentioned in other reviews, the locking mechanism on the external patio doors is questionable. Overall I enjoyed the Old Parish Hall and I think for the price paid, it was good value for money. A bit of maintenance and it would be outstanding.

Had a great stay, cottage was well presented,clean and had everything needed for a good stay, but I would say that stepping into the bath for a shower is quite difficult for the less mobile as it is quite high sided

Overall we had a great experience, however, there were a few issues that needed to be looked at.1. The switch for the grill was loose and needs to be looked at urgently. 2. The conservatory back door is not very secure and you are relying on the patio door for security. 3. There are slug trails on the mat in the kitchen in the morning. 4. The bathroom walls, tiles and shower curtain is covered in mould, I had to clean the bath and tiles before use.
