Cross the causeway to visit the picturesque, Holy Island, head for the beach at Bamburgh with its stunning castle, look out for puffins and seals on a boat trip to the Farne Islands from Seahouses or take a day to explore the magic of Alnwick Castle, famous for the Harry Potter films. There is great hill walking in the Cheviots and cycling on peaceful local roads. Golf is available, 4 miles away. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 175 yards.
