The inviting sitting room is the perfect place to unwind, with plush sofas arranged around a cosy wood-burning stove and a Smart TV offering access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and more, just the spot for cosy evenings in.
Upstairs, you’ll find three beautifully appointed bedrooms: one with a super-king bed and two with king-size beds, each featuring its own en-suite bath or shower room for ultimate privacy and comfort.
Outside, enjoy warmer days in the cottage’s private courtyard, complete with outdoor furniture, ideal for alfresco dining, a morning coffee, or simply soaking up the views of the nearby castle and the peaceful sounds of birdsong.

Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Children and infants welcome. Travel cot and high chair available on request (please provide your own cot linen).
The bedding is a mixture feather and non-feather.
Please be aware that there is a step up from the kitchen into the sitting room.
A hairdryer is provided on the first floor landing.
There is underfloor heating in the ground floor en-suite shower room and cloakroom.
Guests are welcome to use the shared picnic area.
There is cctv in the driveway and car parking areas of the estate.
There is a burglar alarm at Bolesworth Retreat for guests use.
Please be aware that the parking area is shared with neighbouring properties.

The cottage has modern interiors, but doesn't really have any personal and warm touches and so feels a bit like a suite in a large hotel, but with no plug sockets near mirrors for drying your hair. The owner had just taken it over when we stayed (beginning of September 2025) and unfortunately there were quite a few maintenance and other issues that we were disappointed to find in a Rural Retreats property (e.g. no fob for the main gate to the estate, dripping taps, no appliance instructions, out of date heating instructions, broken blinds and other issues). We have reported the problems to the owner and Rural Retreats. We expect much better from Rural Retreats and this has affected the rating we have given.

The first time I have rented through Rural Retreats and been disappointed. We had trouble finding it first of all sat nav directs you about half a mile away. The cottage itself was cold and unwelcoming. There were no extras to make it feel warm and cosy, it took us four days to get any heating as the info said there was a thermostat in the kitchen-we never did find it. The downstairs bedroom had no mirror or shelf to put make up etc and the shower room was lacking any area to put wash bags etc.the cottages are said to be dog friendly but everywhere were notices saying dogs to be taken some distance for toileting however apart from stopping a dog going when it needs there were no bins provided
