Chester 3.6 miles. This stunning detached cottage is located in the grounds of the owners smallholding, which is now part of very small Glamping Site, situated down a private lane in the small village of Saughall, just a short distance from Chester. With exceptional attention to detail, this high quality cottage near Chester is a superb base for a retreat in beautiful surroundings. Set all on the ground floor, the super king-size double bedroom with bespoke furniture, is situated next to the modern wet room. The open plan living area has stone-flagged floors, bespoke kitchen units, a slate worktop and a cosy sitting area with a double sofa bed, a truly exceptional room. Step out of the glass doors onto a patio area where you can sit with a morning cup of coffee, with the Welsh hills in the distance, as you plan the days adventures. The grounds surrounding this cottage run to twenty acres and were historically part of the Kings Forest. Nowadays there are numerous footpaths in the area, and the owner has a small lake in the grounds with its very own bar which is open at certain times of the year. Just four miles away from this Saughall cottage is the Roman city of Chester. Enjoy the city's superb selection of shops, bars and restaurants, visit the racecourse, or walk around the city walls and along the River Dee. Chester Zoo is world-renowned and makes for a wonderful day out for all ages; or you may wish to head up the Wirral Peninsular where you can find quaint villages, sandy beaches and a superb selection of golf courses, including Hoylake which was the venue for The Open in 2014. Just a short drive will take you into North Wales where you can explore traditional seaside resorts, historic castles and the Snowdonia National Park. This delightful cottage will live long in the memory and is a wonderful choice for a holiday in Chester, no matter what time of year you visit.
