These two beautiful holiday cottages are real hidden gems, nestled in the beautiful open countryside of Cheshire in a private rural location and renovated to a very good standard. Tadpole Cottage has been cleverly designed with a wonderfully bright and airy open plan living space on the upper floor really making the most of the stunning views of the countryside and the picturesque village church. Alongside the stunning living areas, it offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate utility. Tadpole Mews, which has recently been completed, can be found next door, and is jam packed full of character with a unique mezzanine style sleeping arrangement. Beautifully furnished throughout, both cottages come with their own private hot tubs, just perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the great outdoors. The owner lives on-site and is on hand should you need advice or assistance during your stay.
Located on the edge of the pretty village of Tilston, these cottages are found opposite the Grade II listed St Mary’s Church. Tilston has a small shop, pub and restaurant, and playing fields, including a children’s playground and ’pump track’ for bikes, scooters and skateboards, all of which are within ½ mile. The old market town of Malpas, which is actually classed as a large village, is just 3 miles away, and has plenty of shops and other amenities. Malpas is home to a Norman motte and bailey castle and consists of half-timbered ancient buildings, a Grade I listed church and Cholmondeley Castle. Tadpole Cottage is ideally placed for visiting Chester, Wrexham, North Wales and Shropshire and is within easy reach of a plethora of activities. The historic walled city of Chester has much to offer including Chester racecourse and Chester Zoo, as well as excellent shopping and restaurants. Delamere Forest and Beeston Castle are also nearby. Bolesworth Castle which hosts a number of events including the International Horse Show is just 10 minutes away. Just over the border into North Wales is Wrexham and its recently promoted football club (Wrexham AFC) made famous by its Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny, whilst Llangollen is a great place to explore, with its horse drawn canal barges, steam railway, and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. White water activities, such as rafting, tubing and gorge walking, can be found slightly further afield in the Snowdonia National Park. Best of all are the large amounts of walks and cycling routes directly from the doorstep. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Fantastic cottage, well thought through with everything you need. Very spacious and heated to perfect temperature for our Christmas stay. Perfect host living close by and very helpful. The cottage is ideally located for exploring Chester, North Wales and surrounding areas. Village pub is close by and Carden Park Golf and Spa Hotel less than 30 minute walk. We liked the cottage so much we’re already planning a return visit.
