A replica of a drift mine from the city's iron and steel heydays can be seen in the Millom Museum, which also features exhibits on the city's history. A statue honouring the iron industry stands in the middle of town; it depicts "The Scutcher," the man who used an iron bar and his own strength to stop the iron ore tubs.
