High Rigg Woodland Cottage receives glowing reviews for its stunning decor, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful surroundings. Guests praise the friendly hosts, Brenda and David, and appreciate the thoughtful touches like homemade cakes and wine. The property's cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped facilities, including a hot tub, contribute to a highly recommended and peaceful stay.
Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, highlighting it as spotless and well-maintained, which indicates a top-notch level of hygiene and care.
The location is praised for its peacefulness, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Cumbria and the Lake District, though the lack of a footpath to the nearby pub suggests a slight deduction.
Guests find the cottage extremely comfortable, with quality furnishings, cosy log burners, and warm bedrooms. The presence of en-suite bathrooms and effective radiators adds to the overall comfort.
The facilities, including a well-equipped kitchen, hot tub, and log burner, are frequently commended. The hot tub, in particular, is a highlight for many. A minor suggestion for more instructions for the hot tub indicates a small room for improvement.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the personal touches such as homemade scones, wine, and a welcoming fire. While these gifts greatly enhance the experience, it is noted that such gestures, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Lovingly accessorised, this retreat welcomes you inside to its thoughtfully put together open-plan living area, layered in detail, with pastel colours, and a warm glow from the low lighting above. Comfortable sofas rest before a woodburning stove, and you can take in the wonderful interior, whether relaxing here, settling down at the dining table, or making the most of the contemporary kitchen. The French doors welcome the outdoors in, and the cottage also benefits from a wall-mounted TV and DVD player to accompany your downtime. Beyond this, discover the two bedrooms, each presented to a luxury standard, the first even boasts its very own roll-top bath, with both being joined by an immaculate en-suite shower room. Wake up to the beautiful decor, throw open the french doors and wander outside to the decked area for some fresh air as the sunrises.
