Renovated to an exacting standard and beautifully decorated with beamed high ceilings, wood burner, a delightful sun room overlooking the garden, not to mention the hot tub - you just might not want to venture further afield. If you can tear yourself away, Cumbria and the Lake District National Park is one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. The area has something to offer all visitors, from those seeking adventure, to those seeking peace and quiet. Not only is the Lake District National Park a short drive away, but from here it’s also easy to explore the great border city of Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland. Shop 4 miles, pub with restaurant 100 yards.

Lovely comfortable accommodation with a welcoming pub 3 minutes walk away. Wayne was very helpful and went to great effort to ensure all was in place for us. All in all this led to a fantastic relaxing week when the weather was not great but the combination of wood burning stove, warm heating, a comfortable cottage and a hot tub meant that we totally enjoyed our stay. We will be back!

Location instructions made the Bothy easy to find in a very quiet spot deep in the countryside. Car parking right outside property. Bothy nice and warm on entry and the underfloor heating kept it warm throughout our stay. Every thing spotlessly clean including the windows (not a feature on many cottages we have rented). Kitchen area well equipped and everything we needed provided. Two comfy sofas by an excellent log burner (initial supply of logs provided). Small sun lounge with view of open coutryside and a bird feeding station which provided great interest. Large bedroom with lots of storage space and a large , very comfortable bed. Bathroom with large shower enclosure and an efficient shower. Aikton is a sizeable village but has no shop. A 10 minute drive takes you in to Wigton which has a good range of shops and two supermarkets. Aikton does have an excellent pub serving good food right next door. Bruno's Bothy is a great place for a couple to get away from it all in considerable comfort.

Our 5th visit - we love it and hoping to return againGreat for a couple if you want peace and quiet. Beautiful surroundings and the hot tub is one of the best. If you’re taking a dog with you then be mindful sometimes they have a horse in the field which backs on to your enclosed garden.
